2. Become a Matahari Ray of Sunshine!

Help us recruit 50 monthly sustainers by #GivingTuesday, December 3rd! Every new sustainer of any amount unlocks a $100 matching donation.

Matahari “Rays of Sunshine,” or monthly donors of any dollar amount are an integral piece of our community. You grow our resources, independence and sustainability.

In June, Matahari celebrated the 10th anniversary of passing the Massachusetts Domestic Worker Bill of Rights. After a decade of being at the forefront of the fight for dignity and respect for women workers, Matahari joined the Movement Commons, a project to build Boston’s first birth center and organizing home centering migrant women & femmes of color in Roxbury. Your support will help us birth the next decade of care worker dignity.

In gratitude for sustaining our work, we offer you:

  • The opportunity to be part of this historic new birth center and community hub
  • Open invitations to public actions & community gatherings
  • The chance to build a personal connection with worker-leaders and staff!

Become a Matahari Ray of Sunshine and nourish a leaderful movement at the intersection of racial, gender, economic, and migrant justice.

3. Or, contribute to Matahari’s General Support Fund

All of us love and rely on care workers in our daily lives! They serve us food, clean our homes, and tend to our children and elders. Their labor makes all other work possible, and your donation helps us to keep organizing for their dignified working conditions.

Since 2002, Matahari has fought to win the 2014 Massachusetts Domestic Workers Law, numerous wage theft cases, and for tipped workers to receive minimum wage in our state (#YesOn5). We distributed over $1 million to workers in a time of great need under the COVID-19 pandemic, trained movement interpreters, and built a community where hundreds of workers can break isolation and build community and power across four languages (Haitian Creole, English, Nepali, and Spanish).
