Dear Resister,
In our recent community message, we outlined the ways that Resist is responding to and commiting to supporting frontline communities. Today I am offering you a way to meet this moment with abundance in service to the communities most directly impacted by this pandemic.
As a grassroots foundation, your donations have kept us going for 52 years. In that time we have seen many difficult moments together but our commitment to frontline communities remains steady. This time is no different. You, like our grantees, have always known that maintaining the status quo in the US has historically only benefited the few. You have aligned your giving to support the communities who see this moment for what it is, a portal from one world to the next.
Resist grantees are fighting with communities forgotten in the CARES Act Stimulus plan - undocumented people, our friends and family currently incarcerated, people without social security numbers, and low income community members. For those of us who are able to survive (and even thrive) during this time, sharing your stimulus check is a small step to support communities unjustly impacted by the COVID-19 crisis. Together, we can ensure that we all have enough to make it through this collective crisis.
