You're Invited to the 2026 Liberation Games πŸ† 🎲 πŸŽ‰

On a dark chilly evening friends gather for good food, fun games, and supporting grassroots movements in Boston! That’s right: Liberation Games is BACK! Fight facism and winter woes with the power of community by putting the FUN into FUNding our movements.

Join us at Spontaneous Celebrations on Saturday February 7th for our 2026 Liberation Games. Last year we raised $6,272 let's break that record in 2026! All funds raised will go to support the following groups working to defend our community:

Called to do more? Liberation Games is planned by a small group of volunteers. Join our team by signing up to volunteer here. As thank for your support all volunteers will receive free entry to the event.

πŸ’Œ EVENT DETAILS:

  • General Admission tickets are $30. Tickets are for entry to the event. All the ticket sales and donations will raise funds for power-building campaigns in Massachusetts (list coming soon)! You can use your entry ticket as a donation to featured orgs in the Game Room, or as a single entry into one of the tournaments.
  • Food/drink - we'll have dinner plates for sale and drinks for recommended donation.
  • Free Childcare from 5:00pm-8:00pm during "family vibe" time! Make sure you get a free childcare ticket for each child. There will be follow-up questions on the registration form so we know the ages and if you would like to contribute to cover childcare costs (not required). Please note we are only able to provide childcare for children ages 4 and up.
  • Wheelchair accessibility - all of Spontaneous Celebrations is wheelchair accessible
  • Parking/transit - limited parking at the venue and in visitor parking on surrounding streets. Spontaneous is a 2-6 minute walk from Stony Brook Station on the Orange Line, and we suggest taking the T.
  • Interest in Volunteering? Sign up here! This is a collective community effort! Sign up to support us with: planning, setup, cleanup, tournament operation and more.

🎲 GAME ROOM DETAILS:

Gather with community and play together. Cards, board games, etc. Learn a new game or play a favorite. Our game library offers cooperative, competitive, and social games - hosts in the Game Room are happy to talk you through the games in our library! And we encourage you to bring your favorites from home, we are open to self-organized gaming!!

Game room buy-ins will be distributed to featured organizations through a non-competitive process.

Compete in our Tournaments for the chance to win big for your group! Already have an idea of what you’d like to compete in? Pre-registration to all tournaments are through this form! We are still looking for a domino tournament host, send an email to Kelsey@ResourceOrganizingProject.org if you are interested in hosting!

Need a refresher or to learn? No problem, join us for lessons before the tournaments start. New/beginner players welcome!

Selecting a Tournament Cause: The purpose of this event is to have fun while putting resources into organizing and movement building for collective liberation. Choose** the cause you are playing for based on the following criteria:

  • grassroots group or organization
  • engaged in some form of organizing or movement building
  • building toward justice and liberation
  • working locally in boston/new england

* Wondering who to choose, ROP is happy to provide recommendations during the event!

What if I get knocked out? We encourage players in the poker or dominoes tournaments to buy back in or to have fun in the game room.


😷 COVID/FLU PRECAUTIONS:

Help keep our community safe and keep our event accessible by following our COVID/Flu precautions.

  • If you are feeling sick please stay home, both for your own wellbeing and the wellbeing of our community.
  • Please test before attending and if you test positive stay home.
  • Masks will be available at the door we encourage attendees to mask when possible.
